As for the change/fix in SW 1.24 it was only UI change (input validation), but the actual watchdog function was not changed. The function is not working as intended for the limit of restarts set to 0 - it stops after the first restart instead of repeating indefinitely. It should be fixed in the next SW version.
When you modify watchdog parameters, you may want to first disable all watchdog entries, wait for a time equal to or greater than Ping wait time (or just restart the device), then make the changes and enable the watchdog entries.
