Feature request - modbus, signed values
#1
Hello, we are using tiny control 3.9 to read few modbus values from a power supply. When reading 16bit values, its always interpreted as unsigned. Would it be possible to add a toggle in custom value definition that would apply conversion to signed integer? There is a way to do it in our graphing system, but the energy calculation on tiny control is not working properly (when the read current is negative).

Please excuse the repost if this issue has been raised already.
Thanks

Hey rehor, have you tried manually adjusting the values or using a mathematical formula within your system to account for the signed/unsigned conversion?

I do that for graphing the value as mentioned.
But the request is more about the value in LK3 itself. One could perhaps track expected charge state of a battery, but that is currently impossible without external system. There is no way to use it for power calculation if voltage*current gives you nonsensical values.
